wiring question about my hella 500's

I am installing a set of hella 500's behind my grill, and I have a question. The instructions say to run the green wire from the toggle switch to the fuse, then to the 12v in the high beams. These are the amber fog lights, and my question is can I run this wire to the parking lights instead of the high or low beam 12v wire? I guess I'm not understanding this wire, does it need to be tapped into, or can I hook these lights up so that I can turn them on independently whenever I want? Everything else looks fairly simple, but this has got me a little confused.

Throw the instructions away if you want to wire them with just a toggle switch. Use a relay so that you have to have the key on to make them work so your battery doesn't run down when you forget to turn them off.

the kit comes with a relay, and a toggle switch, but it says to tap into the high beams so they can only be turned on with the high beam. I want to know if I can tapp it into the parking lights so I can activate them with just hte parking lights on. Do I even need to run this at all? I have a wire from battery to relay, relay to lights, relay to ground, switch to ground, switch to relay. is that it?

    I'll try to help.

I agree, don't hook them up to your high beams. In fog-snow highs bounce glare back at you. An only key on connection would work--- one the low amp side of the relay. But don't use a fuse that would shut your engine down. Add a fuse on the hot side of a fuse, I soldered an "add a fuse" on a fuse to run my intercepter gauge. Hooked up in the box by the drivers door.

Use a unused large fuse from the mail box under the hood for your main draw, I hook uped my trailer battery there.

Could you scan the relay instructions ? I don't know how this relay is made--sounds like the switch is on the hot side, not path to ground.

So many wires, where do they all go?
    Some hot Some grounded.

PS I put in "Truview Capsule " head lights from Napa-- Less glare I like them.

I would power them with a relay and just use a switch on the dash or underhood to switch them on that was tied to the existing wiring so that they go off with the parking lights. Using a relay will put minimal load on the factory wiring.

I figured it out guys, thanks for all the help. I'll get pics up soon, and I wired them so I can turn them on anytime the ignition is on. I also fit them behind the grill, and it looks badass.
