    LQ9 vs LQ4

is there any way what so ever to tell the difference between the two motors by a physical appearance? I want to double check my engine is a lq9 because i just saw the same pictures and Video of my engine on ebay saying it was an lq4

depends on what it was in.... a Vin number would help... Most Lq9s are in Caddys,Yukons, high end SUVs and such.... lq4 is a pulling/truck engine...

pull a plug, and look inside, flatops are what your looking for to be LQ9

Since you'll have the head off, check for flat tops, it'll be obvious, post a pic too.

Because Oscar has been so back-and-forth on this whole thing, it can be assumed that he would be the type to say you bought a LQ9 but then ship you an LQ4... But I think that he actually did stay good on his promise that it is an LQ9.

same block, the heads are the same. The pistons and rod are beefier and the piston is different on the top. I want to say flat top vs a slight dish.
