    you can do 3 things
    1. Slow the *uck down
    2. get a active jammer
    3. become a cop or firefighter (me) and dont worry about tickets.

If you dont want to do any of these choices then your probably out of luck.
Btw how fast were you going?
oh and that law is good because I scrape kids off the road all the time, it sucks.
Just the other day An 18 year old female, was speeding and lost it a little and got sideways just as a oncoming car passed. she got t-boned and killed her. Turns out she was on her way home from work, had balding tires, was speeding 60-70mph in a 45 windy road, stereo super load, and was sitting on her left foot with her knee next to her head. Allot of girls drive like that. Well we were there for 4 hours waiting for the coroner and dps to finish the investigation. 45 mins to cut her out. and family arrived on scene. you ever had to tell someone there daughter was just killed? It sux, and it shouldnt have happened. parents signed off on the driving hours and she never really got any practice driving before she drove alone, not fully understanding the weight of how much things can change if you make a wrong decision while driving. I think people shouldhave to take it at least once a year manditory regardless of ticket or not. Sorry so long, just hate needless death.

You can always be like me and be 43 with a ticket for going 5 mph over the limit on I-35 in Austin.

My wife is a perfect example, look at my truck, all because of in-experience. and thinking she is a good driver. Drive like your life depends on it, because it does.

thats were the jammer comes in handy, or the emergency worker status cops can be jerks, especially the bike cops

haha what i have found is as long as you are going with the flow of traffic you should be fine. if you are passing people you will get it. yesterday a group of people blew past me i was doing 65 in a 65 they were most likely doing about 75+ and they past a cop he didn't go after them.

ummmm i thought you can only take it once a year? and its easy on line. and cheaper 25 bux

I got a ticket for disregarding a stop sign the other day. Of all things, I would have felt better wilth a speeding ticket from the looks of my truck. I tried to get it pulled but the cop went on vacation and the clerk already had a hold of it. Looks like I'll defer it for 90 days, remember defensive driving doesn't get it completely removed from you record like they say. I took defensive driving 3 years ago on line which was easy but the violation still showed up.

Is Defensive driving Texas' version of Traffic school here in Cali?

Like vff_jeff said, being in public safety you see the bad things that happen when you dont obey rules. signs and limits are made and posted for a reason, and sometimes when people dont follow them, people get hurt. Yea, i've gotten speeding tickets, 2 actually, but they were when I was 16 and 19, and being 23 now, i think i've matured and i just follow the rules. I've lost too many friends who made stupid decisions while driving. As far as the cops being d*ckheads, thats not necessary or appropriate IMO. those guys risk their lives day in and day out....We lost a officer 4 years ago because he pulled over a escalade full of gang bangers who opened up on him with all kinds of weapons. Because of what? because they were going a little too fast above the speed limit. They were illegal and didn't want to be deported, so they f'ing killed a police officer. I'm not saying you or anyone on this site would ever do that, but as a cop you never know who you will encounter on a traffic stop. Sorry for the long rant, things like this just get me all stirred up, as I'm going into law enforcement and will be 3rd generation.

We all get upset when we screw up and get caught and fined. We know we screw up and are thankful that we don't get caught every time. We all appreciate what the police do, its truly a thankless job that takes a certain kind of person to fill. You honestly have to believe that in every job there are bad seeds, be it politicians, burger cooks at McD's or public servants. Some officers will give you a scolding and send you on your way and others just write everyone up no matter what the situation.

ok to fix the stigma of cops...sll bike cops and some cops in cruisers on the freeway are more than likely working traffic division, which means there sole purpose is to stroke citations...they have no feeling and dont care about warrants or anything else, they just write tickets....now if you get stopped on most city streets more than likely its a patrol officer whos sole job is to answer calls...i myself being a patrol officer in stop six area of fort worth have let many a speeder go if they have a current drivers license and insurance...so dont knock the cops...i have seen and heard just about everything....watch a fellow brother burn to death in a patrol car after being hit by a drunk going over 100mph.......
