What's would this be worth? This is kind of a feeler before I pull the trigger.

    Comp Cam 216/220 .525/.532 114lsa (P/N: 54-414-11)

Comp sells 'em for $465, and eBay has 'em for around $350-ish. What could one expect to pay for one that has less than 2500 miles on it?

I'm not much on used cams. In the old days, you would never re-use a cam but those were flat tappet cams, and cost less than $100. Roller cams are definately different but I've always been scared of why the cam was pulled or how it was treated when it was in the engine.

What if an engine came un-glued while the cam was in it? Then metal shavings ran both between the lifters and the lobes and between the cam bearings and the journals. What if they ran too light of valve springs and let the lifters ramp off of the lobe and land on the cam?

It not always a bad thing, like it used to be but I won't risk my time and money to save a hundred dollars.

    Anyone else have any input?

Used cams are worth around $250 typically. They are reused quite often. Buy it only with the stipulation that you get to have it inspected before they cash the check.

Well... I can HONESTLY say that this cam is NOT damaged (nor the engine). This cam is coming out of my truck for something a bit more stout. I've been posting feelers to get an idea on what I should list it for, and most have said $250. I'll do even better by posting it for $250 shipped.

Once the swap is done... I'll post pics... My trans is scheduled to arrive next week, so I'll be able to test out the new cam very soon. I guess my old conversion thread will be revived soon.

    Thanks, guys...

I didn't know that you were talking about selling your cam. I would say that $250 shipped would be a fair price. I wouldn't have a proplem with a used roller cam IF I were sure of how it was used. I just wouldn't buy one off Ebay.

i bought my 2 cams sight unseen. I just asked a LOT of qeustions before hand, and had to have pics. No pics, no buy.

I don't think there is anything wrong with these cams as used.
