Man I need to get me one of these. GM is going to be putting 6l80E in their vehicles. The new ratios will be 4.02, 2.36, 1.53, 1.15, 0.85, 0.67. Could you imagine that first gear with 4.10s and up. There is an article with some info on them in Chevy High Performance. It is under BOWTIE NEWS under the article INITIATION PADDLE. They are talking about it being in a vette with paddle shift.

There's also a blurb in the latest Hot Rod about the trans..... their comments were not so favorable however...
Mostly related to how it didn't seem to be a good match for the Corvette..... Something about smashing the go pedal and it taking to long to shift down from 6th to 2nd or 3rd as it went through each gear individually....

First off if you buy a corvette with an automatic then you are probably retarded or don't give a crap about performance anyway, but mostly let it be on the market for awhile and get the "bugs worked out of it" and my guess is it will be the best mod you can do!

I just want to get one when they start doing them for the trucks. I would gladly dish out the dough for a new one from the dealership and put it in my truck.

I'd do one with a manual valve body.

Ya there are all kinds of things you could do. Just think of the launch with that sucker. First gear. Throw some 4.88s in there also. Then fly on the highway also.

This is the first time a corvette or any gm has been offered with a true paddle-shifted auto. They have finally realized it's a viable option that the europeans have been offering for years.

It will be a while before we see these retrofitted. The internal TCM will be a fun hack along with some new technology GM has thrown in the mix. It should be tough but like the early 90's 4l80's, they had more than their share of problems. FYI, the xlr-v and another caddy have the unit and SRTA's can be ordered but they're not cheap.

A buddy & I have been drooling over this since the first sneak peek I saw in Truckin (i think) a month or so ago. Had to call someone cuz I thought this was only going to be a concept.

That's what I hear is going to back the 6.2L that puts out 399HP. Now THAT would be bad-ass in my C10.... 4-shizzle!
