I installed a set of Hooker lt's with a y/pipe a few weeks go. Im still using the factory 02 sensors and not throughing any codes but the 02 data is very lazy and spikey. What are you guys running for 02 sensors with your long tubes? I know the ls1 guys use the rear 02's from a 02 up vette? I was wondering if the same applies for us, or what you recomend.

    thanks for any help.

factory ones should do the job just fine unless they are going bad?

i have the factory ones on my 98LS1 TA and on my 04 truck also

Hey thanks for the reply. Im not sure whats going on I do not think they are going bad. We took 1 sensor of my friends truck today and did some logging. The datasteam on the sensor is still not right. It kinda looks jagged and drops real fast at times when its upto temp.

Im not throughing any codes. I just happend apon this after some loggin and know its not right. Yours could be doing the same and you dont know it witch would affect performance. I did some searches on the net after I realized this and thats where I found that some people with LS1's where running the Cat Sensor in the front from the Vettes, Something about heat range. Im going to look at one of the Vette sensors in the AM to see if its a direct fit. I just figured I would ask here first in case someone else has been there done this.

Hmmm...thats odd since the O2 sensors for an Fbody uses the same sensor behind the cat as at the manifold. The differences are the length of the wires on the connector. I mean there are two pn's for sensors on the fbody, one for the left and behind the cat and the other for the right.

Not fbody sensors, Vette downstream sensors bosch 13111's? I think

I dont know I read it over at Tech. Seems like the same thing im seeing. Right now its a $100 guess.

I guess it's worth a try. I can't imagine them designing or calibrating the internals differently behind a cat though. Maybe they do. I have been known to be wrong before, many times before.

I guess im going to have to give it a try I'll let you know the results tomarrow. Not sure what else to do. I know there arent any leaks or mech problems. I dont know if all 02's are the same. If you have ever measured the temp at the manifold on most Vehicles are about 180 and the cat runs about 3-400. So I would think the heater would be different. My Headers are not coated but wraped so mabey this has somthing to do with it.

The PCM does not go into closed loop until the O2 sensors reach 500 or 600 degrees. One of those two. If your's arent getting that hot, that's your problem.

I was thinking about external temps and the way heat can affect the sensor? As far as closed loop lol

Im off to work and to get some sensors. hope it works.
