I just picked up a low mileage 5.3 today,(thanks Again 00GMCSLT ) I would like to build a 750 hp Streetable(i use that term reeealy loosely) engine in my 2000 Silverado. What Do i need To Do To Get Some Serious Power outa this thing, can someone point me in the right direction to get a few more cubes outa this little ol 5.3, What pistons Do y'all Reccomend., This Will Be A Boost Freindly engine. I plan on Purchasing a Upgraded STS Turbo Setup with intercooler , people tell me 750 hp is unrealistic , was going to buy a Bone stock 6.0 from the GM dealer, and boost it till the pistons cave in to try to get to 750 hp, But I figure $3,400 going into a 5.3 Block could go further, am I wrong?

I am currently lookin @ a 5.3L to 6.3L Stroker Kit, found one for $2,200. Would punchin out the engine that much make the engine too Weak to run 12 psi of boost? should I leave The engine displacement @ 5.3 but get good rods, crank and pistons, and just turn up the Boost to get the power I want... I kinda want about 500-550 for everyday drivin , and want to kick it up to like 750 to Smoke a Ford lightning :flipoff: if that Oppertunity ever presented itself.. I figure I'd need about 750 to do that cause my damned extended cab truck is kinda heavy!

    any advice would be appreciated

STS system with T76 and running about 8.0-8.5 compression and close to 20 lbs of boost when racing.

You can safely bore a 5.3 block out to 5.7 then stroke away as much as you want.
