You probably won't gain any hp right off the bat, unless your experensing false knock that the 99's are prone too.
Are you putting in 02' injectors also? If not you might run a little lean because the pcm is programed for 24 lb injectors where the 99's have only 19 lb injectors.

Also they contain more memory as well which probably is because they have more options for programming. Something about the timing tables are better rings a bell too.

Actually he has the Nelson tune so he wont run lean, he will program him for 99 injectors. Why would he run lean anyways, the 02's were larger injectors, what would make him run lean about that, he would be running rich.

On the hp gain, there probably will be about a 10 hp gain, you can run about 10* more total timing than with the 99 PCM, and it doesnt have the false knock problems so it opens up more power there also. It was a big upgrade for me, hope you like it dude!

bigger injector means the injector pulse is shorter. Short pulse with an even smaller injector means lean mixture out of the box. The PCM will try to compensate for it up to a point. Guys on LS1Tech are saying their fuel mileage is going up when they install much larger injectors. maybe it has something to do with the fact the the fuel vaporizes better with a shorter bust of spray rather than open a long time relieving pump pressure.

shoot guess I was thinking backwards. I am going to switch to Z06 injectors soon along with longer pushrods.

If his old pcm is already tuned by Nelson, will Nelson put that tune into a 02' PCM for him if he sends it too him. I don't know what Nelson's policy is for something like this because I never got one from him before.

Just send him a core 01 PCM for pay the fee for a core and he will send you a tuned 02 pcm for you. I sent him an 01 more i picked up for 50 bucks, no reburn fee. 01 and 02 work just the same, they are the same service number (411).

If you are going to do an injector upgrade, go bigger than the 02 injectors, they arent that much bigger at all and woulnt be worth upgrading. I plan on going to Z06 injectors in the next few months.
