    5.3l/nv3500

    Hey,

I have done hours of research and know that they work together with a 4.8L fly wheel, 1377c release bearing, and 6302-vsp43 pilot bearing. All of which I have ordered and have on the way. What I have not come across is what people used for hardware. I believe I came across some ARP bolts that will mount the flywheel and another set for mounting the pressure plate. Can someone confirm this? My next question is on clutches. They say you can reuse the stock clutch but it sounds like you have to remove the dowels from the flywheel and ream out the pressure plate bolt holes to allow the metric thread bolts. Since I am in need of a clutch kit can I just order a 4.8L clutch kit and skip removing dowels and reaming holes? Will the 1377c release bearing work properly? I am swapping an 05 5.3L in with my stock 5 speed in a 91' c1500.

    Thanks!

As far as fly wheel, release bearing, and pilot bearing I went the route stated above with my LQ9/nv3500 in 92 OBS. I went with flywheel bolts from advance auto parts and I used my stock clutch with the dowel pins removed and bolt holes reamed out.

you should be able to run the 4.8 flywheel and 4.8 clutch with no problem as long as you use to correct pressure plate bolts.

for what its worth, the 1377c bearing would not work in my 6.0/nv4500. I had to go with the 1697c bearing to get the proper clutch release. The 1377c was not long enough to fully release the clutch

I used ARP-330-2802 for flywheel bolts on a Sachs 1050 with a 6.0 and for the pressure plate I used a shouldered 3/8 by 1 1/2 grade 8 bolt with my McLeod super street.
