Hey Guys...and Gals...I'm stuck with a LT1/T-56. I wonder if someone can offer a complete write up on what is needed...cheapest way. My truck is a 93 C-1500 now powered by a 4.3L non vortec non balance shaft with TBI.and a 5 speed..my LT1 will be carburated. The T-56 is a 94 I think out of Fcar...reverse action pressureplate/hyd....do I use the Fcar hydraulics? Is the flywheel compatible with all LT1s....how about the drive shaft? I have to do this swap qickly as it is my primary driver due to "things" so I don't have a lotta cash....Thanks in advance Ken

what year LT1? You can use the V6 flywheel and 5speed bolted to the LT1. Sell the T56 for more funds to do the conversion.

Thanks but the 5 speed is really the problem I'm doing the whole swap to get rid of...Its VERY tired. Whats the combo to swap the T-56/5spd....My 4.3l runs very well.

It should bolt right to the motor with the LT1 flywheel and clutch. The bell housing is the same bolt pattern. It only stands to reason that if the 5speed V6 transmission will bolt to my old LT1 and work just fine, the T56 should bolt to the V6 and work fine, also. Use the flywheel and clutch from the LT1 with the T56.

so that SHOULD mean that my hydraulics in the truck are reverse acting as well? Mine is a 94 T-56....I really only know that the pressure plate has to be pulled...not pushed...I assumed that to be unique..If it isn't I've been beating myself up trying to get stuff for the entire swap. I'll probably need the starter too then huh...would the driveshaft yokes be interchangable too?

You'll need the starter from the LT1. If you have it already it shouldn't be an issue. All hydraulic clutches do their work by pressure. All you have to do is marry the hyraulic line from the V6 to the T56 style if they're different. You might be able to contact Street and Performance for an adapter to make the C1500 clutch pedal work with the T56 slave cylinder.

Street and performance has knowledge of this type swap? and sell the stuff to do it? I'm a 70's wrench that hasn't had much experience with "new stuff" you've been VERY helpful. I have to get my truck back on the road very quickly so it's important not to have any surprises....

They do that for a living. They put LT1, LS1, HEMI, Cadillac and whatever else engine you can dream up into other vehicles. Check out their site at hotrodlane.cc. They might even buy your engine/trans combo from you if you want to sell it.
