First day back in town after a 10 day vacation and my tranny gives out. I've been expecting it, but timing was bad.

Anyway...Built tranny and slightly bigger stall is on the way.

A good friend of mine and auto mechanic has hooked me up with a local transmission shop here in Austin.

I'll let everyone know how it turns out.
No more trucks, but this is what I used to have. 2000 GMC Sierra, 6.0L-LQ4, Built 4L60, LS6 Cam, The Other Guys Headers, 3 inch exhaust and 7 chamber flowmaster, 43lb injectors, Nelson Tuning, Drop - 3/4 McGaughys Spindles, Bell Tech Shackles & Hangers. Best time 13.59 @ 106

Sorry to hear about your loss.

Time to get a good built tranny put into the truck. As good as that truck looks it deserves only the best and if you're pulling a trailer you really need it.

Good luck!

It's not really a big deal, just news.

The new tranny will have:

Redline Clutches
New Planetary Gears
Larger Bands
Upgraded Drum
Transgo HD Shift Kit
Corvette Servos

If I left anything out please chime in.

I'm not sure I consider it bad news. I couldn't justify upgrading the tranny & converter until the old one broke.

Now I have a justification for the expenditure (grin)

There will be a new stall, but not quite that big. Probably around 2400. I still have a trailer to tow.

Yank 2600 converter like I have in my truck, you still keep 100%of your towing capacity. But as you go higher the less capacity you get, but I know you know that. Its a great all round stall.
