Well my tranny took a crap again!

Just wondering a few things..first off some of you know I'm running a built 4l60 4wd behind my 6.0l..this is the second time it's started to slip, caught it today before it went all the way out again..but not driving it,don't want to chance it...what all would I need to do the 4l80 swap?..will my stall off my 60 work?..would I have to beef up the 80?..are the drive lines different?..just need a little input on the subject..also maybe thinking about pulling the motor, and putting a 5.3 back in it with a cam..but that's just a thought for now....thanks for the help

The 6.0 is bored .30 over with 10.5:1's prc stage 2.5 heads and comp cam..thinking about instead of upgrading the tranny..put a stock 5.3 with a cam,and get the 4l60 rebuilt again..that way I won't have to buy another converter, tranny drivelines etc..and just put the 6.0l in something with a manuel tranny..kinda thinking about a fox body mustang lol..would you guys disown me?

The swap isn't overly difficult. Find a good used converter and don't worry about rebuilding it again. You're out less than 2500 (that's the high end) with everything.

if the trans was built recently the builder should man up and repair the trans. Doubt your making anywhere near enough to need a 80e. the cost of going 80e at this time is going to be more out of your pocket then returning the trans you already have fixed by the builder who built it...why spend money when you dont need to

That's what I'm hoping he'll do..especially since this is the second time it went out...but if I put a stock 5.3l back in it with just a cam..I dont think I'll have to worry about it going out again..I think the 6.0l is killing it,because I'm running 35" tall tires..that's a lot of mass to be turning IMO.

I think you have that backwards. The 35s are killing it, not the 6.0l.
