    What motor is this?

So I picked up this motor for my dad from a guy who passed away's daughter. Basically she has no idea where it came from.

It has 799 heads and that sensor that hangs by the crank. you can see it in the pic.
It has a return style fuel rail, 78mm DBC TB, and an oil pan I have never seen.
I also noticed that the valley tray had embossed lines all over it, is that a VVT or DOD thing?

I was thinking a L33HO with the intake swapped.

I think its the front sensor, thats the one that comes around the balancer?

It has 5.3 stamped on it.

I guess I'm looking for an F-body pan and oil pick up, Its going in an off road buggy.

look at the color of the crank sensor, its located on the passenger side of the block above the starter. If it's grey or white it's a gen4 engine. Black sensors are gen3. If you don't have the sensor, look in the hole and if the reluctor wheel in there is two stacked plates it's gen3 and if it's one solid plate about 3/16" wide with evenly spaced notches it's a gen4.

Did the SSR 5.3 have the 90mm intake? or the Envoy? I'm not aware if they did or not. Do you know where the engine came from? Can you just ask the guy what's up with it? If it has DOD you can tell my checking the lifters. If it has VVT, you can tell just by looking at the front cam sensor. The VVT ones are spaced out quite a bit further from non VVT.

EDIT: VVT also has a phaser and two sensors on front, not just the one.

As you can see, the cover on the left has the phaser in the center and the sensor is spaced further out than the non VVT on the right.
