Lm7 install into 95 GMC Sierra

    Hello,

Got a 95 Sierra and want to install an LM7 into it. Problem is I live in California and have to have all the smog components for the swap. Has anyone done this legally with all the smog components successfully? Is this swap possible or a lost cause? I know others have done this illegally but I want to do it right. Any articles or books on how to do this swap legally would be great.

    Thanks.

Haven't done it, but I don't think its to difficult. Newer engines don't have egr (efficent enough not to require them), so that would be a starting point. You need to figure a way to hook up the purge line to your exisiting line (shouldn't be difficult), and keep the stock y-pipe, or add converters down the line somewhere. Stock y-pipe for lm7 would be the easiest solution if you can make it fit.

Would it be dumb for me to ask the dealer if they know how to do it? Maybe there is a kit?

the dealer will have it in the form of a smog legal engine swap setup available through GMPP.

I'm working on one now. It's not that hard at all as long as you have all the sensors, Evap, 02's etc. Still not done with it though, should be a couple more days I'm working on the wiring harness now.
