    motor conversion help please

Hey guys new to the site I have a 90 silverado 2 wheel drive with a 350 and auto trans it has the basics headers, intake manifold, tbi upgrade, slp exhaust, hypertech chip, msd ignition, but she is tired with almost 200k miles. I want to do a swap I don't want an ls1 but my buddy has a 5.3 out of a tahoe I belive I'm not a 100% Ive done motor swaps but never an ls type motor where do I start do i need new motor mounts, trans crossmember, fuel tank, and how would the ac and power steering work, and the engine harness does that need to be from the tahoe or is there a kit available and how would the stock gauges work on it? Can I use my stock trans? Do i need a new driveshaft? Will the 1990 shift linkage work. Pleas shed some light on this and Hell me stay somewhat sane haha thanks guys..

So did I, it is now LS1 powered. You don't need new motor mounts, just the adapter plates. Get them from here www.dirtydingo.com or from carshopinc. There are more styles out there. You can keep your same trans crossmember, but I would suggest going to a 4l60e. You can also keep the same fuel tank, and sending unit. Just upgrade the fuel pump to a 96 and up Vortec fuel pump. The Gen III/IV power steering pump will work; you may need to do some minor bending of the lines. You can keep your same a/c compressor, you will just need some bracket or adapters. There are lots of threads on that. I kept the LS1 compressor and had to notch my frame, I like it better there. You can use the Tahoe harness, but you will have to modify it some. Or you can get one from here: www.nelsonperformance.com. The stock gauges work from sensors on the engine. You can use your trans, but just go to a 4l60e or a 4l80e. If you use the 4l60e you will not need a new driveshaft. Install the engine and trans into the truck, bolt the crossmember into truck, and then the trans to the crossmember everything else should fall into place including the linkage. Use these headers, Schoenfeld headers. Hope it makes sense. Also start a thread on LSX Conversions. Where are you located?

I'm right down the road from you. That's not lame that is cool, lots of dropped and some bagged trucks here. But not too many body dropped. I hope to bag mine one day.

fuse? Have you tried just putting power straight to the grey wire going to the fuel pump? It's located in the wiring bundle under the brake booster. You can put 12v to it on the firewall over by the relay behind the a/c accumulator.
