Thread: Finally got the tranny back in

    First of all I want to say thanks to Hitman X for his help in finding all the parts that I needed. Man a 3000 stall feels awesome in my truck. It actually can get moving. Now I just need to figure out why my vehicle speed sensor isnt working. The actual sensor is working but the computer isnt getting the signal. No speedo abs light is on and it wont shift outta first all b/c of the sensor readings. Anyone have any ideas. I already checked the fuse for the abs and put the voltmeter on the vss and it is putting out a signal. I think Im going to try an ohm load test and see if there is a break in the wire.

    Good to hear ya finally got the tranny in the truck, as for the problem I have no clue on what to look for. You double-checked to make sure all of the sensors were hooked back up?

    All the sensors are hooked back up and there really isnt any way to get them switched due to length of cable or type of plug I beleive it has to be a broken wire somewhere going to the computer.

    TCI 3000 should have gotten a yank TrT3000 so I could still tow but it will be changed out with the new engine this summer.

    Good to hear ya got it sorted out... I didn't hear from ya in a while and didn't know what happened.

    What about the cables on the T-case? I dunno just throwing out ideas... it's been a while since I've driven my truck let alone been under it. lol

    Did you make sure the shifter was in the right position. Does it read properly when you shift each gear? I know mine was a pain to get right.

    Did you maybe cut the wire when installing the transmission? You wouldnt be the first. Check continuity from the connector at the transmission end to the pins at the PCM.

    Well I figured out the problem. There is five or so connectors that are all the same and it just took about half a dozen tries to get it right. Got on alldata and looked at soom wiring diagrams and got it all straightened out. Now everything works great and runs good. The tune is getting stronger but I still cant get a 1-2 chirp thats all I want. Maybe by the time the tune gets good and settled in it will do it. I only have about 80 miles on it since I switched out the computer so Im going to give it another 200 miles or so then ask allen for a retune if it doesnt do it. I got a transgo hd2 shift kit five pinion planetaries all alto eagle red clutches raybestos 2nd gear band pinless accumilator piston hardened output shaft what was called a torque drive package bacisally a reaction gear shell with a hardened input shaft transgo seperator plate new silonoids( i know i spelt it wrong) a billet od servo already had the vette servo. I think with all that my tranny could handle shifting like that. I love the manners of my TCI stall it keeps the engine up where it sounds good through my exhaust. And lots of rice want to race me now cause they think Im trying and Im only half way into it then when they turn their fart can up I just punch it and let them listen to a real exhaust.

    Hmmm, if the shift brings the rpm back down below the stall point you will not get chirps, I don't think anyway.
