    CAI's

So what's everyone using? To me they seem awfully damn expensive for what they are. I recently came across one from Spectre for about $100.00 but I have some concerns about it. i) It doesn't say if the filter needs replacing or not. 2) The box around the filter doesn't seal to the hood. 3) The tubing from the filter is aluminum which while it may look cool I think would attract heat froom the engine compartment and defeat the purpose.

So, anyone running one of these from Spectre? If not what are you using? How do you like it?

I got one but only used the tube and kept the stock airbox to isolate the heat more. Not sure if it makes any difference but its worth a try.

Above 30 mph the heat shield doesn't make a difference, there is enough airflow moving to push under hood temps down. There isn't enough heat sink from the tubing to worry about the aluminum tube heating up and warming the incoming air. I have 4" aluminumized exhaust tubing with silicone elbows and a giant K&N cone filter for my home made CAI. I ran a sealed airbox with heat shield and open and couldn't tell a difference.

Okay, thanks guys. Think I'll buy it this weekend and give it a try. Also going to be throwing on a Magnaflow Catback system later on this summer, should sound pretty good from what I've heard from others

If I remember right you're from my neck of the woods. So don't spend the money on the cat-back since we get raped on everything. Go to a decent exhaust shop and have them make you up a 3" midpipe and whatever muffler you want. It'll be a lot cheaper.
