I've read conflicting notes in this forum. One said that all LS motors except the 5.3 will work.

I'm looking to put a 5.3 into a 95 1/2 ton GMC and am wondering if the t56 is possible.

Also, what is the best year (easiest to swap) of the 99-05 5.3 to buy with all wiring and accessories? Throttle cable vs. drive by wire etc...

    Any help is much appreciated.

Personally I like the LS1/LS6 with a cable driven throttle body and 2002 PCM and harness. They make as much HP or more than any 6.0L plus they are 65-75 lbs lighter. Less weight equals HP. The T56 has been installed in numerous trucks on this site. Research past posts and you will see a lot of good information.
