pretty much says it right there, i posted a thread in the technical area about my 07 5.3l and wanting to put a cam in it, but im a newbie all the way round, no idea what kind to get, how to do it, prices on install... anything, would love some help from you guys
2007 gen3 or gen4 engine? NBS or NNBS (GMT900)?

wow lol, i dont know anything.. its a new body style? how do i find out that info on it?
if its a newest body style and not the classic then it should have a Gen4 engine in it. Gen4 will have a grey crank sensor located just above the starter and the Gen3 sensor would be black. The Gen4 will have two controllers for the engine and trans located at the front of the driver side, one is the engine controller pcm and the other is the transmission controller TCM. Gen3 will have only one controller. Gen4 will have a camshaft position sensor on the front timing chain cover while the Gen3 will have the sensor behind the manifold on the back and center of ther block by the transmission housing.

did a quick search and its a gen4 nnbs and i wanna say gmt900 but still not quite sure

oh ya and im in deer park specifically, just south east of houston right next to the ship channel and all 10 thousand refinerys hah
annnyways, can anyone help me out with my dilemma? wanting to put a cam in this thing and maybe a few other small necessary things to go along with the cam?
