First of all I justed wanted to say this is a great forum. I read several posts before deciding to order my Nelson PCM tune and that made my mind up!!!!! I do have one question about the PCM core. I would like to keep my orginal PCM and I read some where that a used PCM could be ordered from somewhere and shipped to Allen for the PCM core. Does anybody here have the website for this. I want to say a PCM could be ordered for around $50.00.

Can't waite to get my new tune and see how the truck responds!!!!!!!

    Thanks
    Randy (bigkid7983)

Welcome and you will love your Nelson's tune! I don't know what the core charge is but it might be worth it just to pay it and keep your old PCM. I wouldn't worry about keeping it, Allen could always read your core and save it to be reflached later if you chose to.

Good luck finding a core for $50. Maybe hwyauto can get you one for that. Contact Allen to find out which PCM models he is willing to accept for trade-in if you plan on keeping your's.

I haven't thought about haveing a stock tune sent to me if needed.
My truck is a Regular cab Z71. It has a 4.8 motor that is not bad for a stcok truck. I just can't stand to think the motor is de-tuned from the factory. So far i have the K&N filter, Flow Master exaust, White Face Gage Kit, Sony CD player and 2 12" MTX Woffers. Not too bad for somebody that's dang near 40. hehe. i think I'm having my second childhood.

    First welcome and congrats.

Just remember... your truck now is quicker than mine due to gearing lol

I live in Dothan Alabama. Right at the Alabama Florida line.
Talked to Allen last night. Super nice guy. Now I really can't wait to get the tune installed. My truck came with 3:73 gears. That seems to be a good gear for everyday driving.

Anybody else live in this area??
