    ls2/l92 swap help??

    Getting ready to swap out the 4.8 for a ls2/l92 combo. wondering what changes need to be done? will i need a new flex plate, cam sensor extension harness, is the reluctor ring the same?? Anything you guys can think of that i will need to get?

    the ls2 is out of a 05 GTO
    my truck is a 07 classic with a 4.8l

    07 4WD SCSB, LQ9/LS3 w/LS7 cam, LS3 intake,built 4l80e conversion,custom rear mounted TC78 turbo setup, ported exh. manifolds, devils own meth kit, WTA intercooler, aeromotive f-pump,True Trac, stock 3:42's, "new design" gray 20" american racing torque thrust ST's, 3/4" drop kit, painted grille, hids, welded roll pan, iss wing, Factory ss front bumper, TBSS SW, custom pioneer/infinity system with 10" JL sub

    Use the flexplate from the 4.8L.

    Not 100% positive about the cam sensor harness...

    The LS2 has a 58x reluctor and the 4.8L has the 24x reluctor. Doing the swap isn't all that bad...

    if the color of the plastic on the crank sensor is black then its a 24x reluctor, if its grey/white its a 58x wheel. IIRC the LS2 has both configurations.

    You know, now that I think about it--you may be correct Greg. I think some of the older LS2 may have had the 24x...and the newer LS2s in the cars and TBSS's had the 58x....

    I'm pretty sure 05 GTO will still be 24x

    my thinking is this 04 gto has ls1 definatley 24x. 05 ls2 should be 58x as would 06. i dont thinks they made a 24x ls2....
    2005 crew cab, new crate lq9 with comp 212/218, 558/563 on 115 cam, 80mm t.b. coated long tubes, off road y, flowmaster cat back, dynomax bullet, ngk plugs, msd wires, k&n cold air kit, 4.10 gears, auburn pro lsd, transgo shift kit, nelson drive tune, trailblazer i-6 torque convertor, anzo lamps, ss front bumper, z71 tahoe rear bumper, debadged, kenwood touchscreen with headrest monitors, JL components, coaxials, sub, 5ch amp. bell tech 2/4 drop. 22x10 ss wheels with 285/35/22 bfgs.

    04-06 GTO, 05 Vette = 24x
    06 and up Vette = 58x
