Imagine that, my 60e is acting up

No real mods to the truck yet, just a tranny cooler and a cai. Pulling away from a stoplight, turning left, and as the tranny goes to shift into second it slams into gear really hard. Really freakin hard. This thing cant take too many shots like that. I hate this thing. Someone give me a few grand for a built 80e. Anyone got any input on why it slammed into gear like that? Fluids are level, temp was normal, blah blah blah. WTF am I lookin at here? This has happened before, but I decided to chalk it up as circumstance.

When a trans starts banging shifts its usually sign of a bad sensor somewhere such as the TPS.

Hell, its got a 100k warranty, make GM figure it out.

Yeah I know I can go after a warranty claim, but my local dealer is a pretty awful place to try to do business. Would a bad temp sensor possibly cause this, because I think I have one on that tranny? In another post I referred to a constant temp difference between the tranny temp and the ambient air temp , immediately after startup (within the first 30 secs). Ive started my truck after its been sitting all day and will get a tranny temp that is 10-20* higher than the outside air. I suspect that particular sensor is my culprit, but any advice is more than appreciated

mine does this if my tune is on stock... normally happens when you have constant pressure on pedal, and then push it down a lil more for just a second, trans goes to downshift, then changes its mind (happens from trying to make lil rev with exhaust, hitting a pump, shifting in seat, etc)

when i have my performance tune on, the trans doesnt down shift unless i really get on the gas, and it rides out the gears longer, so it NEVER happens.

depending on miles, not sure i'd really worry about it. i thought i blew a u joint the first few times it happened...probably 50-100 times later, still going strong.
blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum

Yeah Im aware of what youre referring too, but that particular condition shifts with more of a clunk on my truck. This was an output shaft shattering/band snapping kind of SLAM into second. And I was only doing maybe 10-15 mph, and no I wasnt goosin it

Chalk it up as circumstance. The mechanics of the tranny probably burped up that spicy taco you ate for lunch...

60-65-70e all the same imo. Good idea, bad execution. Im sure when this trans lets go, I'll be at the dealership, but I don't want to have the tranny fixed and not have any idea what was truly wrong
