    4l80e Swap Question?

Well I pretty much have every thing to do the swap except the wiring adapter and the driveshaft fix, performabuilt told me that I can fix the length with a slip yoke I will keep my drive shaft because it is already the 4'' but has the smaller u joint and I know I can get spicer u-joints that go from the 1310 to the 1350 but I need a part number for the longer 32 spline slip yoke the 4L80E is actually shorter than the truck 4L60E, so does anyone have a good part number?

I dont have it but I am going to need it. You might find it in kysilverados how to thread on Performancetrucks.net or on the front page. Nelson performance did a right up on it as well.

Go here and see if you can locate the one you want... The Expert - Dana Holding Corporation Product Information for driveshafts, driveshafts, axles, and Drivelines. Select Identify Part by Dimension (J300-P) select Slip Yoke, select Splined Transmission, Change the series to whatever size ujoint you want, (1330 or 1350 or 1410 if you really have some serious TQ) and then you get a list of all slip yokes. The R(hub diameter) you want is 1.885 in OD and has 31/32 splines. The output shaft is 1.350

2-3-14281X must be the longest 1330 out there.
    3-3-6441X is the longest 1350
3-3-4401X is the longest 1410 if you're the boss

wow, that thing is clean. Its obviously an older unit since it doesn't have the center support with the oil return line going into it. That should not be an issue though. What's the dipstick out of? Sure has a lot of sharp bends in it.

the trans was taped up and sand blasted last weekend and for the dip stick tube it is a 2500 hd truck assembly I would of had the crossmember welded up today but I don't have a welder any more and my buddies welder broke so I will probably have to wait until monday. I wonder how much power my stock 5" driveshaft will be good for?

I really appreciate your advice but I think I will get the adaptor harness so it will be fool proof and if I want to put it back to stock!

    Thumbs up

Well I sandblasted the crossmember and painted yesterday before I went to work I really like the way the engine enamel coates. I believe the crossmember was designed to be a structural part of the frame so I it really should be reenforced some more maybe later!
