Engine swap book available from Amazon

Amazon.com: How to Swap GM LS-Series Engines into Almost Anything (S-A Design) (9781932494815): Jefferson Bryant: Books

Just ordered this manual. Decided to buy it and see if there is any good information in it to use in the future. Should be a good one for anyone doing an engine swap. I'll let you know how I like it once I get it in my grubby paws and finish reading it. Hopefully its a good investment.

Ordered this to go in my reference library...

I see EFI tuning guru Greg Banish now has a DVD out to teach you how to tune vehicles using EFI Live or HPTUNERS. It's available from SummitRacing under PN SME-DVD-1 and retails for right at $250. That's a whole lot cheaper than his live training classes. The $250 will be credited to your class price if you decide to go to one of his EFI tuning classes.

Great book, the swap book. I'll post some interesting highlights as I go along.

1.) 2004+ blocks have a larger camshaft bearing bore and require different bearing than the earlier blocks.

2.) American Touring Specialties, Street and Performance, AutoKraft, Speed Hound Performance, Vorshlag(BMW) and BRP supplies engine swap kits and engine mount adapters.

3.) Transmission should have a 1-5 degree downangle, 2 degrees being optimal for performance applications. Measure the angle at the output shaft.

4.) Most driveshafts are balanced for 3000-3500 RPM, nowhere near enough RPM for performance use. Only use a shop that can balance your shaft in your operating range.
