    LQ4 short block?

Is there anywhere to buy just a normal lq4 short block. No heads, cam intake... With low or no miles.
Been thinking of doing a low budget build if I could get all my ducts in a row. Thinking of using a lq4 bottom end, partriot 64cc heads (someone tell me if thats a good idea or if I need to use 67cc), my ls2 tbss intake and my 228/226 cam.... throw in a few other tinker toys and a wet kit.... anyone think it would be a good idea?

sdparts.com for a new block, bishop-engines in Dallas for a core engine or just buy a complete drop out so you have all the parts and pieces that you can part out to offset the cost. Bishop has some factory 2nd blocks for cheap but be sure to have them remachined by a competent machine shop, bore, align hone the mains, replace the cam bearings even though they're new, deck the block to ensure its flat.

Personally I would go with a new block or used before the 2nds.

How in the world would I put a DUCK in a row with another duck? I would haft to go out. In the cold. IN season and shoot enough to make a row... Thats alot of work. Probably be easier to just get heating duct and put in a row....

Ok... Called Bishop. They got a nice lq4 short block for 350. NOW I need just stock parts to build it. The crank is checked to be in spec. Does anyone sell just a stock rotating assembly or just a lil over sized * Im not looking for anything above 370*

bishops will sell the complete short block for that, then just take it to a machine shop and have it all cleaned up and new bearings put in it...that would be the cheapest way to go about it

They said they will sell the complete short block for 350. They only stand behind the block and crank. Thinking it might be wise to get the pistons at least.
No one answered my questions on the Partriot heads. Are the 64cc heads going to be too small on a lq4. I was thinking that is the same as the cc on a 5.3. Ive heard of people putting 5.3 heads on a 6.0 to get higher cr... If the lq4 is a 8.*/1 maybe get it above a 9?

Imma be off of work for a few months. Imma get bored. So Im thinking project time haha.

stock lq4 is 9.4 so the smaller heads will put you up in the 10.2 area so yes that would be good for boost of nitrous.

A machine shop could tell you if the rods and pistons are usable...why replace them if they are okay unless you feel like spending a extra grand at least for some decent rods and pistons
