I came up with that I'd need...

43 or 39 Ring Gear Teeth
    and
10 or 9 Pinion Gear Teeth

Any one know the R&P teeth numbers of most popular ratios?

    3.42:1 to 4.88:1?

The chevy 10 boly rear end has a 41 tooth ring gear. The number of teeth on the pinion gear determines the ratio.
    8 teeth =5.13/1
    9 teeth = 4.56/1
    10 teeth = 4.10 / 1
    11 teeth = 3.73 / 1
    12 teeth = 3.42 /1

You have to have matching gears due to pitch of gears.
To get a 4.88 /1 I think you need to hang a 9" ford rear end under it.

Check out the gears available for your truck at www.4wheelparts.com. They have good prices on gears and install kits. You can see a list of all gear options available.

The common size gears they sell for the 9.2" IFS chevy front end are 3.73, 4.10 and 4.56. Other manufactures such as Richmond gear may have other gears available.

I've probably put 50 sets of 4.88:1 gears in chevy 10 bolts. They exist, don't know the tooth count. Check West Coast Differential they'll have everything you need.
