    over heated w/-47 wind chill rant.

    So I start my truck this morning at about 0640 to let it warm up. The wind chill's at -47 and I gotta leave the house at about 0715. When I walk out there's coolant all over the ground *** me. Open the door to move it out of the way so I can take the wifes jeep to work. Look at the temp guage and it's pegged in the red. Throw it in gear to get the POS out of the way and it wants to die. I'm thinkin my coolant/water ratio is jacked which caused it to freez somewhere in the lines and one busted. I really don't want to spend and hour in the cold fixing it either. Oh yeah. I don't have a block heater either. I think it's time for a new truck (which I don't have money for) or I can just let it sit for the winter, hope the block cracks, and then start my swap early. That is all...

    its running like shyte because the PCM has shut down cylinders to cool the engine with fuel. Its a little self preservation routine they wrote into the injector logic.

    Good to know. I think I'll bundle up when I get off work and open the hood to see what I can find.

    Check your antifreeze strength. If it is too thick like more than 70% anti >30% water it will turn into jello when cold.

    Warming up today. Only -17 F. this morning------that is for all you Texas people.

    Where in ND are you at? If that were the case wouldn't it have heated and turned back to liquid before I ruptured a line?

    i have a block heater that was in my truck if you are interested...my truck was from PA and when we did the motor swap i saw it in the old block....what do i need it for i am in Texas lol

    Hmmmm, Is it one of the ones that replaces a freeze plug? I might be interested
