Help!!! Did I wreck a head because of one bolt?

Tonight while starting on changing my valvesprings, I started turning the bolt to compress the spring and what I thought was threading in must have been doing it's own game. Now when I try to screw the rocker bolt into the whole it goes like 3 turn and gets tight, where the other holes I can screw it in by hand till it bottoms out! I'm hoping that There's a way to fix those threads or I'm f'd without a kiss. Any advice/help I need it!

Did you use the crane valvespring tool? I had a problem like that, when installing my rockers. clean the threads of the rocker bolt, if you have an air gun shoot it down in the thread. Hopefully thats the problem if not might have the tap the hole.

Put grease on the tap to catch chips. A bottoming tap is better for blind holes if you can find one.

Umm I can't say for sure that I'm right but I don't believe they would because they bolt through the middle of the head, where yours bolt around the perimeter.

worse comes to worse you could put a helicoil in the hole to repair the threads.

I managed to get the threads fixed with an 8mm x 1.25 thread pitch tap and some cutting oil, plus good old patience. I got all the springs changed now I just need to swap out cams and I'm set..thanks for your help guys!
