    Fuel pump wiring

I'm running a 5.3 LM7 (2005 Tahoe motor) in a '93 Silverado. Everything was running great but now I get no output from the PCM for the fuel pump relay. Are there any drawbacks to wiring the fuel pump to an ignition signal?

In an accident, that is the most dangerous thing you could do. The PCM is setup to kill the pump a few seconds after the engine dies. If you're in an accident that cuts or breaks the fuel supply line, the fuel will continue to pump until you have the presence of mind to turn the ignition key to the off position otherwise you'll be getting plenty of fuel for a big fire. Like Smokey Bear says "Learn not to burn".
