Project '47 IH gets a Gen III 4.8.

O.K. so the sight is great and as many of you may know I am an editor for Buckaroo. So since I am going to be shooting the story for Street Rod Builder, I figured I would provide the step by step build here as this install take place over the next three or four weeks.

1947 International. 305HO 0.30 over, carb, worked iron heads the good stuff backed by a TCI 700R4 and 12-bolt rear. total weight 2667ibs (no driver)
DYNO#175hp and 225ib ft of tq at the rear wheels.

The Swap: 45,000 or so mile 2002 4.8 Vortec
Painless Perfect kit w/stock tune, (We'll have to work on that)
    Lokar hardware/Billet Specialties
    Welder Series motor mounts
    Tanks tank and in-tank pump

    update

So last night, I pulled the front sheetmetal, radiator and began tearing the accessories off. Once I got that far I said screw it, I am gonna pull it.

Tommorow I have a 9:00 interview and then I am going to go swap this bad motor for a new one and I am going to see if I can't get the new one in this weekend. Enjoy the update pics.

If it were an old school Hemi then I'd let the purple slide.

O.K. so over the weekend I went and got another 4.8, this time from a tahoe. It is on better shape, got more miles but came with accessorie brackets and a ps pump I will not be using but anyway. I mocked it into place best I could without having the motor plates and bolted it to the trans. Turns out my trans has to come forward one inch.

The stock manifolds and everything will work.
