    Servos and tires

    Wich servos should I get? I heard billets are better, but I like the price of the vettes. Ill be spraying a 50 shot out of the hole with 4.10's, street tires are eagle gt2's that are 29'' tall, 275 wide. I have some 15x10'' wheels and some 26x10'' slicks. would the slicks be too harsh right now? Info please Im buying up parts right now.

    Nothing holds like the billet servos do but if money is an issue the vette servos are good and about $60 less each. Your limiting factor will be the condition of your existing clutches in the transmission and how strong your driveshaft is, if you can hook up you'll get some awesome 60' times.

    Are the billets just as easy to install? And will they help keep the tranny from getting burned up? All Im worried about is the launch. I have it rpm switched to not spray during shifts, except the 50 shot.

    Nope, they're not going to keep you from burning up a worn out transmission. The whole story will be the quality of parts you have inside of it and their current condition. If the transmission has good quality part and in good condition the servos will help prevent the band from slipping but will not do anything to prevent the clutch plates inside from frying if they're marginal. A little extra transmission fluid pressure will help under WOT conditions, thats why I started putting the Transgo vacuum mod kits in transmissions I work on.

    Yes. They are just as easy to install. Greg is right, the billet ones have a larger surface area for the fluid to push, so it will grab better. But don't let that lure you away from the Vette servo. It is pretty damn good. Servos are easy as heck to install.

    That's transmissioncenter.net out of the Shreveport area and I run their #1 and #3X servos in 60e transmissions. Its your money, spend it how you like. Either way you'll have an improved shift.

    do I need the longer pin If I get #1 and #3x?

    if you need a longer pin you need to have the band replaced in your transmission. I've never had to replace the pin to get the correct amount of engagement/travel. A longer pin is a bandaid for worn parts.

    There's a procedure for checking proper pin length but it's only needed if something went wrong inside.
