    Felt like a Maytag...

...stuck on the spin cycle. All night long....spin, spin, spin.

I went down to Ennis with my wife and met up with one of my coworkers and his wife. First run out of the box was with fully aired tires and in drive. 2.035 60' spinning, 8.789 1/8th mile spinning a good part of the way, and a 13.623 1/4 mile at 101.37 (best of the night - cut a 13.9 later @ 100mph). It was all downhill from there. The night just got worse...I tried leaving in 1st and it spun ridiculously (10.09 1/8th). In fact every run after that it was spin, spin, spin. I definitely need some stickies. I would try and feather it, baby it, and it just wouldn't grab. Anyway, I know there's a bunch more in it - just gotta get it to hook.

My buddy from work was thrilled because I let him take it down a couple of times. He couldn't wipe the smile off his face. He got beat by a Mustang but only by about half a second.

And then, the highlight of the night. I talked my wife into making a pass. Her first pass she got a .212 RT and cut a 14.6. Came rolling on back to the lanes just smiling away and said she wanted to do it again. She was lined up with a Dodge Dakota - unsure of mods. She got a bad start (.866 light) but caught and passed him and ran a 14.0 @ 101.2 mph! Consistent 2.3 60' for her. She went three times and loved it and wants to do it again. So I need to borrow some drag radials sometime and head back down. Married me a racer!

It was a good night. Times weren't what I wanted, but when you can't hook, what can ya do?? Nothin. Anyway, I'll upload some videos later. Got one of me, one of my coworker, and one of my wife beating the Dakota. I was so proud of her. It was more fun watching her than racing myself.

So the best of the night was a 13.6. I'm confident that with slicks or DR's I can get high 12's.

Didn't get all the runs videoed because the camera card was messing up.

This one was a crappy run. Spun forever, otherwise I would have beat the Camaro (he ran a 13.6).

And here is Jenn making her 14 second pass @ 101 mph!

I ran a black dakota too. He ran a 15.73@85.29mph to my ****ty 15.36@91.06. I wish I didn't have to work because it was getting faster as the temps dropped and I was getting more comfortable launching. Stll had nearly 3/4 tank of fuel so I doubt I would have broken into the 14's tonite regardless.

just a side note.. do you always go through the water like that? I dunno im just throwing this out there, but like maybe you should just bareeelly get some water on the tires, move forward, then do a sick burnout. You might not be getting all the water off, or at least getting your tires hot enough? I dunno I just completely avoid the water since im on street tires most of the time, and do a dry burnout to make sure the tires get warm.

Yeah I usually do (avoid the water). It's just nothing was working last night so I figured I'd clean 'em off good and go from there. That didn't work either. lol

Thanks man - I appreciate it!! And yeah, I think she's hooked. Might be easier to explain my need for nitrous now.
