Filling in the money pit with a new converter

Well, bit the bullet today and ordered a new converter from Vince and the guys at Finish Line Transmissions | Performance Transmissions | Torque Converters | Transmission Parts | Transmission Service Vickie at Precision Industries suggested a 9.5" 3500-3600 RPM stall for my 80e. Damn, exactly what I suggested, too. Bought a 3 disc unit for the 80e setup for the newer style LS1 type engine. I can't wait! Oh yeah, got a transgo HD2 kit along with a vacuum mod kit for the 80E, also.

I haven't broke a driveshaft yet, just u-joints. They're next probably. I might have to look into Allen's idea of a Suburban one piece driveshaft next.

LOL...why not just bring a trailer with a winch? No need for the bucket or shovel--just leave the broken parts where they are...GRANDPA.
