    Does this look right?

New gear set... didnt install the 410's. So I have never actually seen a set of gears on the carrier...

    Eaton 8.5, 10 bolt 3 series locker...
Richmond 4.56:1 8.5, 10 bolt, 3 series ring and pinion..

WOW what a gap. my hunch tells me once the bolts go in and are torqued up, it will set right down on the face and everything will be fine...having second thoughts about doing this one myself..

now way! that ring gear should sit right down on the flange without having to be pulled down with bolts....somethings not right IMO...i've done a couple of these and don't ever recall a ring gear sticking like that...

yeah, that's correct. If you want it to sit flat without drawing it up with the bolts, set it on a hot plate or in your oven until its about 300 degrees and then set it on there. The ring gear has a slight press fit to ensure correct concentricity.

I kind of had a hunch it was right.. I measered both to be sure. O.D. of ring is 8.5" O.D. of diff was 8.5" both have 10 holes... I rekon it's good. I'll have my machine man heat it up then... thanks red!!

Yall can call me an idiot... I deserve it. For some reason, as stated in the other post, I got ANOTHER G80 instead of a REAL Eaton LSD. Fella on eBay did a little play on words.. but it's all good. He'll take it back for a full refund. Went by Creedles today and ordered the real deal... Starting to wonder whats in my truck now... i'ma end up chewin someone out..

anyway paid $480 for a brand new one today.. it'll be here thursday. I'll be runnin 4.56's friday!!

    Thanks yall
