    auburn lsd...

    so im looking at getting an auburn lsd... what one do i need to get???

    Aftermarket - Products - Differentials - Pro Series

    am i looking in the right place?


    and do i want the pro series? or the ecd???

    well for the full time aburn lsd with 4/10 gears installed.... they want $1,142.62????? does that sound like a good deal?


    any other ideas... also what kind of 4/10's should i get.. i drive this truck daily... and want awesome accleration but with good top end.. do you think 4.10's are the way to go... or are 3.73's better for what i want.

    I have paid 1500.00 installed before. Check with Nelson Performance of TRT they might be cheaper. If you are close to them.

    yeah but dont you have to measure backlash or something like that?

    There is a few more things in addition to the backlash...pinion depth, pinion bearing preload, and carrier bearing preload. Shims are used for correct spacing, but each rear end is slightly different, so you have to use a micrometer or dial indicator to get specific depths. It's a pretty intense install unless you know exactly what to do...

    Do you even know what kind of times you'd pull to run a 130mph trap? Many 12 sec rides only trap mid 100 teens.

    i no i cant run 130 on the track.. but i was just wonderin if 4.10s would like limit my speed to like 80 or something... im not saying that with those gears i expect to be running insane track times.. lol... anyways ya i think im getting the lsd tommorow.. and then im gonna get the gears a few days later.... is this the lsd i should get? http://www.4wheelparts.com/PPT5457T5589.aspx

    Then how would a 4.10:1 limit you to 80mph? This does not make sense.

    The 130mph was with a 6000rpm limit, 30" tires.
