Thread: humming noise when cold

    hey guys im a new comer to the forum, i got a stock 2004 chevy silverado 5.3 v8, stock posi-unit & 3.73, with simple bolt-on intake & exhaust, does anyone else get a low hum noise when its cold out, mine only does it when it 60 degrees out or colder it hasnt done in it a month or so because its hot out now, but we did get some chilly weather here in VA last night & when i left from work sure enough hmmmmmmmmmm, its really annoying, ive had the dealer check it twice only to be told "we dont hear it" & "we dont see any bullitens" its weird with my foot on the throttle its there, when i let off its goes, foot back on, its back again & it does stay even when the truck warms up, & it was there b4 the intake & exhaust was added (yeh the dealer said yeh we notice the intake & exhaust it could be that, jerks&#33 im stumped, just wondering if anybody else has had this problem

    It's not the fuel pump humming because you're running less than 1/2 tank of fuel at the time?

    its on dead E right now the warning light came on when i pulled in my driveway last nite, its 25 miles from work to home, i dont think its the fuel pump
