save your money and buy a diesel model if you just have to buy one. At least you'll get a little fuel mileage with the diesel.

The only thing about the Vortec 454 that I have heard of is excessive carbon build-up--which results in a few EGR problems. Besides that, they are pretty reliable, thirsty workhorses...

Thanks guys. I am with ya'll on that deisel suggestion. I passed on buying it. The only reason I was considering it was because it was a four door 98 classic body style, with a 5/8 drop on it. I have always loved those body styles slammed. He was selling it for 9500.00 with 68000 miles on it. Very clean shape. When I test drove it the ride was good for being slammed. I passed the sale cause when I had put in gear it stalled for a minute until I gave it gas and when it went in gear it slammed into gear. Could have been from sitting up? Didnt do it after I drove it around awhile. Didn't chance it. Later!
