A guy is selling an 04 harness that is set up for DBW like the one on my 2001 5.3 that I have. Will this work, or should I just look for an 01 harness?

Honestly, I don't think it makes a difference. You just cut those DBW wires out or don't hook them to anything. If you needed DWB you would have to get a DBW harness but being cable operated allows you to use either one, I believe. The only hangup is the connectors, if they'll plug into the PCM or not. Are the connectors on the DBW harness red and blue or are they blue and green and will they plug into the older PCM? I haven't tried to plug the newer blue/green connectors into a 411 pcm.

I thought the throttle body on my 01 5.3 was DBW? But I just checked the for sale thread for that 04 harness, and he said it was cut up and missing the VAT hookup and something else, so I said effe it..
