If it aint one thing its another. Last week I heard a ticking noise on pass. side pulled the valve cover and found one of my pushrods bent. I replaced it Sat. re-torqed all rocker bolts and it seems to be louder than before. I double checked everything, is it possible I have a bad lifter.

Did you swap springs, pushrods, lifters, retainers, locks, etc. when you did you cam? If not, the lifters may be worn out from the LS6 cam. How many miles?

If you have the stock springs with a newer LS6 cam, you may have broken one of the springs. The stock truck springs won't handle the amount of lift the LS6 cam puts out due to coil bind. You need some comp 918 or LS6 springs. On the other hand, you could have a cracked or bad rocker or just a worn rocker pedestal due to the bent pushrod. Good news is pedestals are only about $5.

Be sure to get some hardened pushrods ASAP if you're doing high RPM runs. 918s would be well advised, also. You could have a lifter bleeding down but check your exhaust gaskets first. They'll make a sound like a lifter ticking.

First and foremost, I would listen to what Red has to say. But instead of going through to determine which ones are bad--since you are taking the valve covers off anyway--I'd go ahead and replace all the rocker arms and pedestals, pushrods, springs, retainers, etc. That way you will be fresh out of the box and not run the risk of ruining anything further. I am sure (since it is a '99) you have a few miles on it, so doing all of the above probably need to be replaced anyway. It's kinda like a leak in the dam---it starts out small, but gradually gets bigger, and bigger... And once it is big, the costs to replace/fix it are exponentially greater than if you fixed the problem when the leak was small. That's my

Yeah, do some hardened pushrods from TS, Comp 918 springs, Comp LS1 high performance steel retainers (or go with titanium--but they are $$&#036, and check to see what Comp has for rockers. Honestly, you really can't go wrong with Comp stuff, and Texas Speed has rod/spring packages.
