I was reading on another site someone had a supercharger on a 6.0l and was dropping boost at wot(from 9.5 to 5#, and his friend had a 5.3 supercharge and boost was just 2# lost WOT. He thinks its belt slip(and he change belts a few times and diff brands)

SC guys is this something that can't be worked out

I'm old school SC, but it looks like if you want power/less problems on the eng. turbo is the way to go IMO

I never liked a TURBO because of rear mount and lag, but with the new FM TURBO its the best of all worlds. My one problem the heat build up, I live in the south will the heat of the day and the turbo under the hood will give problems

I talked a few times with Allen(he sold me on the fm turbo) and I saw some pic from allen site and tricks site, I like to get some feed back from people that saw the setup and/or seen it run and what you think.

thanks

I like my Procharger, but I got the kit at a steal. If I was starting again, I'd go turbo. Probably the FM from Trick Allen has now.

Side note, my Procharger makes 10 lbs consistently at WOT. Get the right pulley (Reichard Racing grooved pulley), the right belt (Gatorback), and the right size belt (mine is the smallest possible) and belt slip is gone. Radix guys can get the larger idler pulleys which give them more belt wrap.

122 is much better than the 112 for a 6.0L

if i remember correctly the 122 needs to go on anything 6.0 or larger....the stock pulley it comes with will produce like 12#'s boost on a 6.0...it would prolly be like 15#'s on a stock bore 5.3.
the 60# injectors are what you need to go with also..you have room for a lil more than the 42's...

Plus a turbo is free HP, doesn't take HP to make HP with one. The only time you lose HP with a turbo is if you build a low compression engine to run mega-boost. Once the turbo starts spooling though you get all the HP back and more. I guess you could have too small of a compressor wheel and run out of boost up top but that will be avoided if you buy the right turbo from the get-go.

Increased exhaust backpressure causes parasitic loss but not nearly to the extent that a S/C causes.

I like the Trick kit, they just want too much for what it is IMO. They have maybe 1500 in parts in the kit and are they are asking over 5K for it without a FMIC
