I have a 1996 GMC sierra 4x4, and it has a 4.3L which is now knocking like a SOB, and i don't want to do a swap with a nother 4.3L. I have a hook-up on a 2005 5.3L (9,000Miles) with trans and transfer case, inside, and underhood wiring, all the intake and fuel injection, alternator, powersteering pump, A/C, and i beleive the computer, pretty much every darn thing that would come from under the hood. WOuld that be eaiser than doing a 5.7L swap? Any and all input is greatly appriciated, i hope ya'll can help me get something figured out, because, the 4.3L just isn't enough motor for me. THanks guys

Sounds like a sweet deal to me. I don't know if the transmission stuff can be easily swapped over or not in a 4x4 but it sounds like a cool project. Budget funds for a tune, motor mounts and exhaust hookup. A stand alone wiring harness will make an easier swap.
