Hi again

Is there any way I can push a 5.3L to become a 402 ?

Happens that I have a spare one coming next month. But wat to try something cool with it?

Any suggestions?

Yeah, buy one of TRTTurbos blocks and a 4" stroker kit with pistons. Use all your parts to swap over.

I was looking more to push the block, like a crank will be the heaviest thing to order!!!!!

Any other way for not buying a block?

The machine work will be more expensive than buying a new block if you have it machined correctly.

Not actually.

I can have a very low cost machine work done here.

If you give me the measures and the pistons and crank to go with it I can do it.

Will the 5.3L stand for it?

To put things here on mail orders cost me 5 bucks per Lbs+volume, so imagine the block cost delivered.

That's the main reason I dont have a 400SB on my camaro. just a 5.7L bored to the max

The 5.3 block might be able to take the bore, but it wouldnt be safe.
To get to the 402, you need a 4" stroke and 4" bore. You can make a hell of a 383 though.

I'm getting a price for Red and I'll post it up for anyone else.
It will be starting with a new 6.0 block, Eagle crank and rods with ARP rod bolts, more than likely Wiseco pistons, & Childs and Albert rings. I just need to verify a few prices with my builder.
Pistons could change depending on what you want. Some of the off the shelf Wiseco's will raise compression too much or if its for a turbo, make the compression too low. Heads have to be picked accordingly.

Okay,
This is for a 408ci;
New 6.0 block, Eagle 4340 forged 4" crank, 6.125 Eagle rods with ARP rod bolts, Wiseco pistons 4.030 bore, Childs & Albert rings, Federal Mogal and Clevite bearings, ARP main studs.
LIne bored, cylinders bored and honed, rotating assembly balanced, decks checked, file fit rings, and assembled.
$3600.00
Lead time is 2-3 weeks. Lunati crank available. Depending on your heads, JE or Diamond pistons may be substituted for the Wiseco.

Just build a 6.0 block, it already has the 4" bore. Going well over .125" over is going to get into some serious cylinder thickness issues (think overheating, distortion, etc).

I heard that Wiseco and JE were made by the same company... if so, I wouldn't want JEs. I have seen a few sets crap out. Diamond or Ross are nice. I'm going to use Venolias.
