    With all of you Changing your 4.8's to 5.3's and 6 Liters. What happens to all the 4.8's ?

    i would like to build a dune buggy from a 4.8 but i dont have the time....and probably not enough money

    old mod list: H/C/I/N/E/G 408
    new mod list: 5.3, gears/posi, mufler and tune : (

    That's too heavy for a buggy, IMO. You need an aluminum blocked engine. Get a trailblazer or SSR 5.3, LS1, LS6 or LS2. That extra 100 lbs would be hell on the suspension when being jumped. Don't think that you won't be tempted to do that.

    well with the 4.8 just being a paper wieght to everyone. What do you guys think would be a better idea to swap in a 4.8 just to have the motor and tranny swap doneand later swap to a 5.3 or 6.0?

    Is the 4.8 that bad? Or is it just a wanting more power thing?

    It's the more power thing, I have seen a few tuned and cammed 4.8's put down a couple extra ponies
    2009 Silverado, HPTuners, all stock.

    i think my 4.8 runs pretty well for the two mods that i've done to it.

    want to have a Gen III engine in for more power and efficiency.
