    what kind of paint do you use? an all-temp gloss spray?

    I'd use a good acrylic urethane or epoxy. If your gonna use a spray can go with epoxy.

    If you go with Epoxy, be sure that no overspray gets on anything important because it will be there forever.

    Epoxy paints are sometimes called appliance paint. Its available in black and white at Home Depot. Other colors are available but usually only through mail-order that I have found. The blacks I have used aren't like a pure jetblack and the whites are extremely bright in the rattle can versions.

    you probably know this but also use some scotch brite to "easy" scuff your bowtie to help the paint stick, let us know what you found,i have a stock bowtie layin around i might want to paint.
