    TransGo install
Here's a short little article about installing a TransGo shift kit and torque convertor. It's on a F-body not a truck but it's all the same principles.

    Was that parts included?

I install my own so I have no idea what a shop would charge. I know they charged me $25 just to install a couple of teflon seals on my front pump.

I am wondering if the 4L60E-HD2 kit is overkill for most people since they don't install the clutch pack apply springs. The one listed in the article is probably all you need. I know Superior makes a kit too but haven't known anyone personally that has used their shift improver kit.

i called an aquiantence of the family who has a tranny shop and asked him what to do to enhance the durability of my 30,000 mile 60-E, he said leave it alone till i can or have to rebuild the tranny, he said the pump / pistons are alum i think and there are plastic/nylon washers in it that arent very strong. he just said if i dont beat on it it should last a while. he didnt think a transgo shift kit or vette servoswould help legitimately help with durability/ but for a rebuild he uses the transgo overhaul kit, he also said increasing the line pressure did about the same thing as servo upgrade. so should i do nothing and save for performance rebuild or put a shift kit and servos in? i think he was just honestly trying to save me $

It would be cheaper for you to have him build it correctly now than it would be after you trashed it. You could be pro-active and just have it built now.
