I was curious what the 88-98 truck guys are doing for conversion manifolds? I know the truck ones are not going to work for me. I was thinking about trying a set of vette ones. Anybody had any luck with these? What other headers will work with our trucks? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I had 98 fbody manifolds on mine. I pulled them off and built long tube headers when I found I had more time than sense.

Has anyone found a header that will work for our trucks?

I believe the Fbody header will work on the driver side but the passenger side will have to be custom fabbed. Street and Performance, www.hotrodlane.cc has some mid-length headers that fit nice on the 88-98 trucks. NITROUS runs the S&P headers, along with a few other guys around here.

I am definately going to take a look at those headers. The stock manifolds just dont look nice to me. Thats if I dont take a stick of dynamite to it first. I really hate when you work on your truck all day and get no where on it. Sorry just veggin.

I wondered the samething. I know the stock f-body mans will work because i've seen the posts here but what about after market shorties/mid tubes?

Check out post by NITROUS, he has some pics posted of his S&P type 3 headers.

I used the S & P mid-length G-Body headers as well. They fit pretty well & the bung placement in the collectors for the 02 sensors were positioned perfect also. They are 1 5/8" primary tubes, but I thought, HEY!...they gotta be better than cast iron, right?!? I wonder if you asked S & P nicely, if they would make us a set of the same headers in 1 3/4" or 1 7/8" tubing? Hmmm...

Good idea about asking s&p. I got a better pic of the headers from NITROUS ...wow they look good.
