    Let's talk turkey

    Its getting close to Thanksgiving so lets talk about how y'all cook your turkeys!

    The last couple years we have made one in a big ass pit bar-b-que. This year I'm wanting to try and do a Cajun spiced turkey in the pit. Should be pretty good if all goes well.

    We always deep fry ours.

    Like Justin, we deep fry a couple of turkeys. We might smoke one, but I like the deep fried turkeys

    Screw all you guys, I am over here in BFN(N-for Nigeria) again for thanksgiving. What a load of crap. I will be eating the time honored favorite of PB&J cause the cook sucks out out here. Been trying to run them off for weeks. Hope yalls turkeys are good.

    Smoked turkey, spend about 8 hours on the pit. We usually cook 5-6 birds and every piece is gone at the end of the day. Mmmmm

    Oven roasted traditional turkey and hopefully a deep fried bird injected with a couple bottles of hot sauce

    Only 5-6?

    My neighbor has a pit he built for this. Its 6' deep, 6' wide x 4' across. Lined with fire brick and about a foot of concrete all the way around. I think we did about 150 last year.

    We only feed our family. My dads pit is an old propane tank on a trailer. We've had damn near 150 lbs of chicken on it at once.

    Holy shit. Knowing how your neighborhood is that's not an exaggeration. My family only does 2-3 for 25 or so people.

    Never tried a smoked one.... Always deep fry them! Makes me happy
