    Looking for work...

As of May, I will no longer be a full time student. I will only have one online class left until my Bachelors of Science in Biology is completed at the beginning of June. I have applied to about 30 jobs in the last couple of days, but I am still looking. I am looking for something in the oil and natural gas industry. I have around a year of total experience as I have worked pipeline for the last three summers. Obviously I am willing to start at an entry level position, but I'm looking for salary and a company vehicle. I am willing to relocate if the money is right and do not mind being on call.

I do have two jobs lined up, but they are both manual labor type jobs and I would have to work 70-80 hours a week to make things work. I'm trying to get completely free of any parental aid and really need a decent starter job so I can buy a house and support the woman while she completes her degree. Jobs I have applied for are mainly Lease Operator/Pumper jobs but I am mechanically inclined and a tech job would be fine as well. Basically anything where I'm not cooped up in an office 24/7 would work.

If anyone knows of anything in OK/TX please let me know. I can send a resume to anyone within 5 minutes of notification. Please call/text/email any time if you have a lead that I can apply for. Please know that if you put your neck out there for me, I won't disappoint you or an employer.

Depends what the pay, benefits, and opportunity for advancement are. I'm trying to get away from manual labor. I do have a degree in Biology. Even an environmental/safety job would be entertained.

LOTS of OFT jobs up here in Alberta in the tarsands, and with all our environmental crap your degree would help. One hell of a relocate though. I know a few people out there, not anyone with much pull though. I don't think.

Have you checked with weatherford or ConocoPhillips? I've got family in both companies, not in any real high places, but I could ask.

I don't think Canada is for me. I can talk a lot of trash talk, but I won't ever be called a Frenchy.

Thank you for the info. I'm trying to stay in OK/TX if at all possible. I did put in an app for Chesapeake down here last week. Playing the waiting game on them now.

I haven't checked CP, but Weatherford isn't hiring anywhere close to me right now as far as positions I am interested in or qualified for.

I had a resume in with Tucker three weeks ago. National Oilwell didn't have anything online really. Spirit is always a possibility, but I'm trying to stay in the natural gas industry. I like being outside and don't care to sit at a machine all day.

Cruise up to Bartlesville with your diploma and transcript in hand and pay Phillips a visit. Definitely check for companies with college intern programs.
