My son and I are going to install an LS1 out of a 1998 SS Camaro into a 1993 W/T 1500. The truck originally had a 4.3 V6. It has a 700R4 trans. My question = Which motor mount adapters would you guys recommend. We are likely bumping up the stock LS with a Z06 cam. One vendor quoted me the Hooker 12611 units. What do you think.

Go to Schoenfeld's website and order their headers and the mounts they recommend. The dirty dingo mounts are the most universal. I haven't tried a set of DD mounts yet but maybe someone on the site who has done the headers and DD mounts will chime in. BTW, nice combo. I have done a couple of the 98 conversions into a 92 and a 93 C1500. If you can, get a 99+ wiring harness and computer since the 98 is a one year only setup. It will work but it is an oddball wiring/pcm combination.

I just received a set of the Dirty Dingo mounts. VERY NICE mounts! Will be installing this weekend so will know better how well they fit.
i used the dirty dingo adjustable mounts, still using my factory drive shaft

Don't know your plans for the truck, but I would recommend a bigger cam, doesn't seem like its worth the hassle of camming with that small of cam, are you keeping it NA?
