Sorry in advance, I know this topic has probably been beet to death an reborn again over and over, but here goes. I have always run true dual Flowmaster 2 chamber 40 series mufflers on my trucks, and love the sound. I've had them turned down, run out the back, and even dumped into the wheel well. I've run them with and with out cats and always been happy.
I can tell on these forums which I am pretty new to, no one seems to care for the Flowmasters. I'm just starting on my truck and want to run solid 14's in a rcsb 4x4 with a 5.3 N/A. My future mods are LS1 fans, Nelson tune, 212 cam, TB stall LT headers (if I can find some to fit a 4x4) intake, possibly ditching the cat's and of course an exhaust. Right now I have done the tb bypass, p/p tb, K&N drop in filter, vette servo, and descreened the maf. I know I know I shouldnt have messed with the maf, but its too late.
Anyway I am getting ready for the exhaust and currently have two 40 series Flowmasters in the storage room, but plan on buying something else.
    Soooooooo should i go:
True dual 2.5 Flowmaster, Dynomax oval ultra flow welded series, Dynomay bullets,
or single 3" Borla, Magnaflow, or Dynatech with a flowmaster Y?
Thanks for the opinions from the Guru's

I too like the sound of the flowmasters. Dual 2.5" pipes should sound nice. As for 14.0 in a 4X4 naturally aspirated, good luck. Not to sound critical or nothing, just that you have a huge amount of weight to get moving and you'll need a buttload of torque to get there in 14.0. Weight reduction will be your friend in your 14.0 goal. Take as much weight as you can off your truck when on the track. Some kind of ram air induction to help force more air into the intake at the track will help also. Be sure you richen up your fuel mixture quite a bit since you have descreened the MAF. Mine was waaaaaaaay lean after descreening the MAF and rattled like crazy.

I don't have to make 14.0 yet Right now 14.9 will be good. I saw someone with a truck identical to mine except 2 years newer with a k&n intake and cat back syster run a 15.5. So I figure a tune, cam, stall, exhaust, e fans etc. should get me 14.5-14.7. At least I hope so.
Right now solid 14's are my goal 14.7 would be great.

solid 14's wont be a problem. im runnin 14's in an ecsb 5.3 mods in sig. your plannin more mods than i have... good luck and have fun with it. and on the exhaust, if you like loud and dont mind realy bad drone inside of the cab, look into cutouts. im sure your used to drone inside of the cab being a flowmaster fan. otherwise dynomax or magnaflow.

    old mod list: H/C/I/N/E/G 408
new mod list: 5.3, gears/posi, mufler and tune : (

Is one a lot better than the other? Dynomax has a $50 rebate on the ultra flow welded muffs. I'm thinking about true dual 2.5" or single 3". Any opinions?
